Rahim Zadeh, P.E.
The founding principal of RAZ TECH, Inc., Mr. Zadeh has over 30 years of experience in structural engineering and design. An engineering graduate of the University of Texas, Mr. Zadeh’s early career included the design of transmission towers for the telecommunications industry. Not only utilitarian, these towers incorporate beautiful sweeping curves and artistic shapes, allowing them to be both beautiful and functional.
In 1993, Mr. Zadeh was hired by Unimast Incorporated to develop their small technical services group into a full-service engineering department. Starting with only two employees, Zadeh grew the department into a profit center for the company, with 15 employees and 12 engineers. In 2003, he was given a similar task by Marino\Ware, developing their technical department into one of the largest in the CFS framing industry.
In 2011 Zadeh became Technical Director of the Steel Stud Manufacturers Association (SSMA), a position he still holds today. He has managed the development and augmentation of their code compliance certification program, and the update of their International Code Council Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) Evaluation Service Report (ESR).
Mr. Zadeh is a past Chairman of the Cold-Formed Steel Engineers Institute (CFSEI). He represents SSMA at the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) Committee on Framing Standards (COFS) and Committee on Specifications (COS), and ASTM International committees on Steel and Gypsum.
